Earrings 0.3mm-thick Shrink Plastic 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm), Dermatograph pencil (black), Acrylic paint (various colors), Faux leather (black)…1⅝ x 3⅛ in (4 x 8 cm), Earring posts and backs…1 set

Other tools and supplies

Fine grit sandpaper, aluminum foil, brush (small), small scissors, woodworking glue, all purpose glue, Fray Check or similar, masking tape, toaster oven or conventional oven, awl (for earrings only)

Tips

• For the earrings, the 0.2mm thickness shrink plastic is fine, but we recommend the 0.3mm

• Immediately after baking, you can create a button-like groove by pressing a pen to the back of the earrings.

• The plastic will shrink down to 1/3 to ½ of its original size when baked.

How to make the pin

1. See pages 20-21 for reference on how to make the plastic piece. Temporarily secure onto thick felt with masking tape.
